Our shipping policy provides several options. We prefer
USPS Priority Mail and
UPS Ground Shipping and we reserve the right to chose the most cost
effective method to continental
United States destinations. We will ship to United States Postal
addresses and to locations where UPS will deliver. Our shipping charges are
based on a graduated flat rate scale starting around $5.00. Large volume
orders receive a better value price on shipping.
We offer free shipping to
Appalachian Trail resupply points that are listed in the 3 popular
trail guide books between March 1 and November 1. This free shipping offer
is only offered to the US Post Offices that regularly handle "General
Delivery" mail for AT hikers. We will not ship to Hostels, Hotels, and other
locations like Outfitter Stores or Bakeries.

International Shipping we be at actual shipping charges. We will provide you
with a tracking number for international shipping and our success rate is
100% with both UPS and
USPS as providers. However due to uncontrollable issues with customs
and security, we are not responsible for any package after it has left the
US. If you have access to a US IPO in you area we can ship to that location.
We will ship all in stock items within 48 hours of the authorization of your
purchase. Occasionally we have items that are back ordered and we will
notify you immediately if that is the case. Usually our manufactures and
suppliers will fill a back ordered item and drop ship it directly to you the
customer. We will provide you with an e-mail explaining any back order
situations and give you the option to cancel your order if we can not fill
it for you in an acceptable amount of time.
We want you to have the right gear that fits and works like it is suppose
to. We will pay for return shipping for backpacks and hiking boots that have
been ordered and are not the right size as long as you return them in like
new condition with all tags and labels. Limit of 1 backpack and 1 hiking
boot return per customer. Otherwise the customer is responsible for any
return shipping for any items that need returned that are not the fault of
Appalachian Adventure Equipment LLC.
Appalachian Adventure Equipment is committed to environmental stewardship
and leave no trace ethics. We make every attempt to use recycled cardboard
and recycled package materials for shipments. We know that our shipments
don't always arrive in the most presentable packaging, and that
occasionally we use broken Styrofoam pieces to take up space in
the carton. We feel that this is responsible recycling of items that would
otherwise wind up in landfills or get recycled before they get reused. We
absolutely do not condone the use of Styrofoam for daily convenience
and prohibit our employees and family members from using Styrofoam coffee
cups and Styrofoam dishes. We encourage our employees to use high efficiency
light bulbs and to live without air conditioning during the summer if at all
possible. We wish that you as a customer would realize that every little bit
of environmental stewardship is just the responsible thing to do. Please
re-use our package materials for another shipment if you can. If you can
not, please recycle the cardboard, and if Styrofoam is included in your
shipment it makes a great ballast for planter boxes and container gardens
and works well as an insulation in crawl spaces and in your attic.
